Towers

As the name implies, this district is centered on a pair of triangular Itiril towers, one on either bank of the river Alph and overlooking the Abydion High Road as it enters the city, standing some 23m above the Fifth City’s ground level. Each tower has a footprint of slightly under half a square kilometer and is adorned with braid-like false buttresses in the same style as the Basilic Spire. They also have decorative spires on each corner, each topped with a ball and spike, though these are too small for any practical use, unlike that atop the Spire. Each tower has five interior floors.

The Towers are home to a self-styled noble class who serve as the backbone of Abydion’s military forces. Although there are no longer any mounts available to support cavalry operations, the majority of these nobles train as foot knights and expect to be referred to as such. The lesser residents are trained as medium infantry, archers, or other support roles.
